Here’s some frequently asked questions.

  • What makes this gym different than other gyms?

We are not a gym. Gyms are crowded, intimidating places where you are left to your own devices when it comes to knowing what to do, and, most importantly, doing it. The gym business model is built on the 80% who never use it subsidizing the top 20%.

With us, we help you create a schedule you can stick to, hold you accountable, and take care of your program design (and the research, etc. that goes into that). Just walk through the door and we will take care of everything else.

Oh, and, we do our best to make it fun! If you’re not having fun, you’re not going to get fit.

  • What are your hours?

    Monday – Thursday: 5:30 am-11:30 am and 3:30 pm-8:30 pm
    Friday: 5:30 am-11:30 am
    Saturday: 7:30 am-12:30 pm
    Sunday: Closed

  • Why aren’t you open on Sundays?

We’re family-owned and we really care about the well-being of our employees. Everyone needs a day off to be with their family.

  • Where are you located?

15235-F John J Delaney Drive, Charlotte, NC 28277

  • How much does membership cost?

We have several memberships to choose from. Check out what is included in each level right here, or clicking the “Membership Info” tab above.

  • I really need help with nutrition as well. Do you have a program for that?

Absolutely! Our approach to nutrition is unique: instead of another diet or restrictive meal plan that we both know won’t last, we use the latest science of behavior change and nutrition to set you up for a lifetime of success. Once you’ve passed our Starting 5 Nutrition Curriculum, we’ve partnered with the best in the business – One-by-One Nutrition to help you take it to the next level. This is included with all of our coaching memberships at no additional cost.

  • Why Don’t You Have a Free Trial?

This was something we experimented with for years, and we found that people would treat the free trial like it was worth what they paid for it. It was a lose-lose situation.

  • I’m really busy and/or my schedule it crazy, should I wait?

Can you think back and remember the last time you had hours of free time, no stress, and money to burn on whatever caught your fancy? We can’t either.

If you’re thinking of putting this off until the “time is right,” we understand how you feel. What we’ve found with clients just like you is that taking this one step at a time allowed them to get into the best shape of their life without getting overwhelmed.

Remember 2 things: (1) you are the goose that lays the golden eggs. Investing in regular self-care will change your life. (2) the next step is our Risk Free Trial.

  • It worked for others but what about me? Will I be able to stick with it?

With 100% certainty, our program will work if you can answer “yes” these three simple questions:

    • Q1: Do you currently eat food? If you can make one small change to what you eat for lunch or what you drink most of the time, then you can do it.
    • Q2: Can you invest 2 to 4 hours per week in exercise? If you can consistently exercise even twice a week for an hour at a time, then you can do it.
    • Q3: Are you a nice person? If the answer is “yes”, we’re good. Really, that’s all you need to be able to work this for you. We’ll do the rest.
  • Will I fit in? Will the other people at the gym laugh at me?

Yes you will. No they won’t.

Simply stated we have an “only nice people allowed” policy. Our supportive and welcoming culture is one of the most important ingredients in our secret sauce, so we have no problem parting ways with people who don’t fit.

This is the kind of place you will like working out in.

  • Does strength training make women “bulky”

    The short answer is “no.”

The longer answer is: our programs are designed to boost your metabolism, increase tone, strength and flexibility. They are not designed to promote maximal muscle development.

Building large muscles is very hard and will never happen to anyone (man or woman) by accident or overnight. It takes 5-10 years of consistently eating very large quantities of food, and 5-10 hours per week of training specifically designed to promote maximal muscle growth.

  • What is “small group” personal training? Will I still get enough attention?

Our system of small group training is actually a key to how you can get great results for a great value. It’s more fun, more effective, and allows us to keep our prices down. Everyone gets the coaching and attention they need in our small group personal training sessions.

  • Why women’s only?

Because getting and staying in shape is hard enough without adding intimidation/harassment to the mix. We’ve built a place where you can feel comfortable, have fun and just focus on getting into the best shape of your life.

  • I have an injury, low levels of fitness, a medical condition, and/or am older, is this a program that I can do?

    The short answer is “yes”.

The longer answer is that we start everyone out with the Functional Movement Screen to establish your red, yellow and green lights in terms of movement. This helps us set up your program design. Additionally, since we do personal training and not classes we are able to tailor everything to the individual.

In classes there are large groups of people doing the same thing at the same time regardless of how appropriate that is for them. We have more time with each person and have more information to individualize for each client.
