How to Have Your Cake and Eat it too!
One of the things we teach our members to do is track their food on a regular, consistent basis. Knowing your daily intake of food obviously helps you monitor what you are eating! If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.
Here are 3 reasons to track your nutrition starting today:
1. To get results: Weight loss is the result of a calorie deficit over time. Period. The cell phone you’re using to read this on is built based in part on the laws of thermodynamics. If those were wrong you wouldn’t be reading this… You can’t feel how many calories you’re consuming. If you’re not tracking you have no idea if you’re in a calorie deficit except when you do the InBody. (The InBody tells you your total calorie deficit or surplus the past month.)
2. To have your cake and eat it too: You’ll only continue losing weight and then keep it off it you don’t feel excessively deprived. We all need to feel like we get to go out to eat, have some of our favorite foods sometimes. But what is too much? You can’t feel what too much is. When you track your food you can plan on cake or dinner out and still stay under (your calorie) budget.
3. To get Feedback: The reason that deaf people have a hard time learning to speak is because they don’t get feedback. Their vocal cords work just fine, but they can’t hear their own mistakes so they can’t correct them. In our age of unlimited food we NEED feedback on how we’re doing relative to our calorie budget. Tracking your food, gives you this feedback.
And oh yeah, It takes less than 5 minutes per day!
